    Features

    • Capable of closing against maximum head and flow through the valve
    • Bored to reduce head loss to a minimum and the head loss across the valve is stated and guaranteed.
    • Safe emergency closure in case of turbine going to runaway speed (failure of governor), with the help of counterweights.
    • Opening operation of the MIV carried out by pressure oil operated servo motors. The pressure oil will be supplied from the governor OPU.
    • Normal position of valve disc in open position is horizontal and in closed position vertical. The valve is kept either in fully open or fully closed position depending upon operating requirements.
    • Normally the opening and closing of the MIV will be done under balanced water conditions. However, the valves is also designed to close in the shortest possible time under unbalance condition for the expected water flow considering the bursting of the largest tap-off among various tap-offs on the penstock.
    • Complete along with servomotors, counter weights, lever arm assembly, bypass valve, differential pressure switch, electrical control panel, upstream/downstream connecting pipe pieces for joining with the penstocks, dismantling joint etc. required to make a complete unit.
